Practical tips
- ❶ Salerno is connected to Naples and Rome by high-speed train: a great starting point.
- ❷ The Travelmar ferry from Salerno is scenic and reaches Amalfi without navigating the SS163.
- ❸ The eastern part of the Coast (Maiori, Minori, Vietri) is far less crowded than Positano.
- ❹ Vietri sul Mare is the Italian capital of ceramics: great for quality souvenirs.
- ❺ In low season the SITA bus is the only option (ferry suspended): it departs from Piazza della Concordia.
