Amalfi Coast · Beach & Local Life
Maiori
The longest beach on the Amalfi Coast: 300 metres of sand instead of the pebbles you find everywhere else. Maiori is the coast's most relaxed town - a proper seafront promenade, local restaurants and prices that won't make you wince.
Maiori sits at the mouth of the Regina valley, which cuts inland from the coast and gives the town the widest coastal plain - and therefore the widest beach - on the entire Amalfi Coast. It is a real working town with a supermarket, a post office and residents who live here year-round, which is unusual on this stretch of coast.

Ferragosto Fireworks (15 August)
On 15 August Maiori celebrates the feast of Santa Maria a Mare with a procession at sea and fireworks over the bay - one of the best Ferragosto spectacles on the coast.
