Practical tips

  • The Travelmar ferry from Salerno is seasonal (Apr–Oct): in winter use the SITA bus from Salerno instead.
  • Buy your SITA bus ticket at a tobacconist before boarding - they are not sold on the bus.
  • In July–August the Amalfi→Positano bus can take 1.5h instead of 45 min: build in extra time.
  • Ravello is worth the detour: Villa Rufolo (€7) is one of the most beautiful viewpoints on the Coast.
  • The return from Positano by SITA bus is slower (curves + traffic) - allow at least 1h to Sorrento.
